What does the "Subset" label do?

Last Updated: Sep 03, 2016
A subset is a group of data within your overall project. For instance, if you are analyzing the results of a survey, possible subsets might include respondents' age range, state/country, gender, etc.

Having subsets in your data enables you to filter and analyze your data based on these different groups. By selecting a subset, Luminoso will recalculate the Concept Cloud using only the documents contained within the chosen subset.

You can directly compare how your topic is discussed from subset to subset by using the View Topic-Subset Associations or Download Topic-Subset Associations or Download Topic Match Counts tools. Please see "Overview: Additional Tools" for more information on these tools.

Please see "Data Formatting: General Guidelines" for information about creating and labeling subsets within a dataset.
