Once you've logged into Compass, you will see a box at the top left-hand corner of the screen that says "Add Project +". When you click on this box, a new box will appear in your Project Overview screen that will guide you through the steps of building a new project.
There are three initial steps:
1. Selecting a language
2. Naming the project
3. Adding a description of the project (optional)
Selecting a Language
The default language is English. However, you can click on the language bar to select a different language to use in your project. Note that once you select the language and save the project by clicking on "Create Project," you cannot change the language for that project. If you decide you want to listen in another language, simply create a new project.
Compass currently supports projects in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish.
Naming the Project
A name is required in order to create a project. It is common to use names that reflect the seed words chosen for the project, though this is not necessary.
Adding a Description of the Project
A text box is available for you to add any notes or comments you want to the project. This is optional.
Once you have selected a language, named the project, and (if applicable) added a project description, click "Create Project" to finish building the project. You will see the message "Building project server- please wait" along with a "spinner" that shows that Compass is building the project. Once the spinner stops, the "Configure Project" option will become available.
