How do I configure a new project?

After you've added a new project, you will see the project configuration screen:



On the left-hand panel, you will see the project name and project description (if applicable) that you entered when you created the project.  

On the right-hand panel, you will see a number of different commands:

Activate Project: Click this button once you have created a seed and set a Twitter cap (if using Twitter data) or prepared your data to use with the API (if using the API to upload data).

API URL and API Token: Use this information if you are planning to upload your own data into Compass using the API.  If you will be using Twitter data, you can disregard these fields.

Seeds: The key term(s) and/or phrase(s) that Compass will use to search for data in Twitter.

Twitter Cap: The maximum number of tweets related to the seed(s) you have selected that will be pulled every 24 hours.  The default cap is 10,000 tweets.

Language: Displays the language you selected when the project was created.


In most cases, you will only need to type in the seed(s) you would like to listen to and, if applicable, adjust the Twitter cap.  (See the article on Twitter caps for more information.)  Once this is done, click "Activate Project."
